About Ginny Sparks
Ginny Sparks, who is the illustrator as well as the author of The Adventures of Sunflower Girl - Grandmother and the Bull, is a full blood Navajo woman. She is in her mid-fifties and is a Registered Nurse. She was born on the Navajo Reservation in Northern Arizona and did not speak English until she was seven years old. She is planning a series of Sunflower Girl books based on real life experiences she had while growing up on the reservation in the 1950’s and 60’s.
